Spain Honeymoon Itinerary: 6 Days in Mallorca + 48 Hours in Barcelona
For our honeymoon, we wanted a little bit of everything: beautiful beaches, time to relax, good food, exploring somewhere new, and of course, a few nights out. Our Spain honeymoon itinerary ended up being six days in Mallorca followed by two nights in Barcelona, and it gave us the perfect mix of a beach honeymoon and European city getaway.
Here’s how we spent our honeymoon in Spain, plus a few things I wore, packed, and would definitely recommend. ♡

SPAIN HONEYMOON HOT TIP: And I Mean Hot
Before we even get into the itinerary: pack a portable fan. European summers are HOT, and the A/C isn’t always what we’re used to in the U.S.
The portable fan I got from Amazon was easily one of the best things I packed. I used it on the plane, in airports, at the market, on the boat while we were anchored, and pretty much anytime we were out exploring.
If you’re heading to Europe in the summer, pack the fan. Trust me ;)
6 Days in Mallorca
Staying in Cala d’Or
We stayed at AluaSoul Mallorca Resort in Cala d’Or and booked the all-inclusive package. It was the perfect home base for the Mallorca part of our honeymoon because we could spend entire days relaxing at the resort while still having plenty to explore nearby.
Having food and drinks included also made our slower days feel like actual vacation days. No reservations, no plans, just pool, drinks, food, repeat. ;)
🚗 Getting Around Mallorca
If you’re staying in Cala d’Or, I definitely recommend renting a car. It’s about an hour from the airport, and we used ours throughout the trip to get to Santanyí Market, the port for our sailing day, and downtown Cala d’Or for nightlife.
Just make sure you plan ahead if you’ll be driving. My husband got an International Driving Permit (IDP) through AAA before our trip, and the process was pretty easy.
Having a car was 100% worth the extra planning and gave us so much more flexibility to explore on our own
Pool Days + Doing Absolutely Nothing
One of my biggest honeymoon recommendations: leave yourself a few days with absolutely nothing planned.
We spent some days by the pool, grabbing drinks, swimming, eating, and actually relaxing after all the craziness of planning a wedding. One afternoon, the resort even hosted a poolside paella and sangria-making class, which was so much fun and, more importantly, delicious.
There was also a little strategy behind our slow days. Our sailing experience required some flexibility with the exact date, so having a few open pool and beach days made it easy to move things around once our boat day was confirmed.

A Beach Day in the Cala
Of course, we couldn’t stay in Cala d’Or without having a proper beach day. We spent one of our slower days swimming, relaxing, and taking in that ridiculously blue Mallorca water.
A couple things to know: you can bring floats into the cala, so pack a blow-up tube in your suitcase or grab a tube or pool noodle from one of the vendors down the street.
And bring some euros for the TikTok-famous Cala d’Or fruit man! When we were there, he came by around 3 PM with fresh fruit cups, whole mangoes, watermelon, and pineapples. Honestly, the perfect beach snack. 🍉🥭

Nights at the Resort
Even on nights when we stayed at the resort, there was usually something going on. They had different live entertainment and performances, from flamenco dancers to musical acts, so we could grab a drink and enjoy the night without having to go anywhere.
It was another reason I liked the all-inclusive setup. We could have a full pool or beach day, get ready for dinner, and still have something fun to do afterward.

Santanyí Market Day
We traded the pool for a little exploring and headed to Santanyí Market. You can grab fresh fruit while walking around and shop local vendors selling everything from beautiful handcrafted pottery and clothing to leather sandals and more.
We also had some of the best tapas of our trip at one of the little café restaurants within the market. We grabbed a table outside, ordered a few things to share, and just enjoyed the atmosphere while everything was happening around us.
We wanted to visit the church in the center of town too, so the head scarf I wore ended up coming in handy. I used it as a shawl to cover my shoulders before going inside, so definitely keep that in mind if you plan on visiting!
The market is held on Wednesdays and Sundays, so this is one activity you’ll want to plan around when putting together your Mallorca itinerary.

A Night Out in Cala d’Or
And of course, we had to see what Cala d’Or was like after dark.
We drove into the downtown plaza for drinks, bars, and clubs, which was a completely different vibe from staying at the resort. The plaza was lined with different lounges to grab a cocktail, bars to sing karaoke at, and of course clubs to dance the night away. It was fun having the option to actually go out when we wanted while still getting all the relaxation of a resort honeymoon during the day.

Sailing the Calas with Vita Bel
This was easily one of my favorite experiences of our entire honeymoon. We booked a shared sailing experience with Vita Bel Sailing Tours, where you provide a few possible dates and they confirm your sailing day closer to the trip based on the shared group.
Definitely keep 2–3 days of your trip flexible if you want to do this. Since it’s a shared experience, having a few open days gave us room to move things around once our sailing date was confirmed. This is where those unplanned pool and beach days came in handy!
We spent the day sailing between the calas, paddle boarding, snorkeling, swimming, and even cliff jumping. Funny enough, we ended up cliff jumping in the same cala located right by our resort!
The crew also prepared fresh tapas on board with Cava, wine, and other drinks included. Truly a 10/10 honeymoon day.

Steak Dinner Date Night
One night we traded the poolside food for a proper steak dinner at the resort. It was nice having a reason to get dressed up and have a date night without even needing to leave the property.
And after living in swimsuits for most of Mallorca, I was very ready for a cute dinner outfit. ;)

48 hours in Barcelona
After six days of beaches, boats, and taking things slow in Mallorca, we ended our Spain honeymoon itinerary with two nights in Barcelona, and the energy could not have been more different.
We only had about a day and a half to explore, so we weren’t trying to squeeze every Barcelona attraction into one trip. We picked a few things we wanted to do and enjoyed the city in between.
Barcelona After Dark
Barcelona nightlife was unlike anywhere else I’ve experienced in Europe. The night really doesn’t get started until late, with clubs opening around 11:59 PM, which honestly worked perfectly for us. We had just traveled from Mallorca, so we had enough time to get to the hotel, take a nap, get ready, and then head back out for the night.
We went to Shôko and arrived around 12:30 AM, and the entry line was LONG. We probably waited about 30–40 minutes, so definitely be prepared for a wait or try getting there when they open.
Once we got inside though, it was completely worth it. The music was an amazing mix of hip-hop and reggaeton, and the energy was so much fun. If you’re planning a night out in Barcelona, embrace the late start. ;)

Sagrada Família, Tapas + Coffee
We walked from our hotel to Sagrada Família, grabbed some tapas outside with the basilica right there, and stopped at a local coffee shop while exploring.
Honestly, just walking around and experiencing the city was part of the fun. With such a short stay, I’m glad we didn’t spend the entire day rushing from one attraction to another.

Rooftop Pool Break
After walking around in the Barcelona heat, we headed back to our hotel and spent some time at the rooftop pool.
It was the perfect little break before getting ready for the night and another reminder that you don’t need to fill every second of your honeymoon with sightseeing. It's also the perfect time. to wear any bathing suit you didn't get to pull out at the resort ;)

Brazilian Steakhouse Date Night
One of our favorite meals of the honey moon was at Guanabara Barcelona, a Brazilian steakhouse with rodizio-style service.
The food was absolutely delicious with a tapas bar and unlimited fresh and juicy steak being served all night. It made for the perfect date night before heading out to experience Barcelona after dark.

💍 One More Honeymoon Tip: Leave the Real Rings Home
One thing I’m so glad we did was buy travel rings that looked similar to our actual engagement ring and wedding bands. Between swimming, the beach, sailing, and everything else we were doing, it was nice not having to constantly worry about losing or damaging our real rings.
And it ended up being a very good decision because my husband actually lost his fake wedding band while swimming! Thankfully, it was the travel ring and he had packed a few extra silicone bands, so it really wasn’t a big deal.
Definitely a good reminder that things can happen no matter how careful you are. If you don’t want to spend your honeymoon checking your finger every five minutes, leave the real ones somewhere safe and bring travel rings instead.
